For over a decade, Live Work Play Media has been a champion for the local makers, the downtown shops, and the artists who give our communities their soul.
But as we approach the most significant milestone in our lifetime, the 250th anniversary of the United States - I realize that local focus wasn't enough.
Today, we are officially charging onto the national stage with the launch of the America 250 National Small Business Directory and there couldn't be a better time.

Why This Matters Now
The 2026 Semiquincentennial is more than just a date on a calendar; it is a story of resilience, creativity, and heritage. While national commissions plan massive celebrations in major cities, we believe the other half of the story is best told through our local artists and small businesses.
Our mission is simple: to ensure that the makers and mom and pop shops that fuel our communities are front and center as the nation celebrates. We are proud to support the mission of America250 in creating a celebration that reaches every corner of the country, from the historic streets of Pennsylvania to the sun-drenched shores of Tampa Bay to Willamette Valley wine country in Oregon and everything in between.
Meet the "Founding 250"
To lead this charge, we have established the Founding 250. This is a prestigious group of the first 250 businesses to join our small business movement. These "Local Heroes" are more than just directory listings; in our America 250 National Small Business Directory or in the regional Tampa Bay and Pennsylvania Guides we've been producing for a decade, they are our Heritage Partners.
When you see the Gold Heritage Seal on a business anywhere on our website, you aren't just looking at a business - you are looking at a star of the 2026 Semiquincentennial.
These partners are at the forefront of our national promotion, proving that small businesses can, and should, lead the way.

A National Treasure Hunt
We are also bringing this mission into the physical world with our limited-edition collectible National Small Business Art Cards. Each card across America is a unique collaboration with an American artist, featuring a "USA" or "city" postmark and a gateway to discovery.
By scanning the QR code on the back of these cards, residents and travelers nationwide can "Collect the Art and Discover the Heart" of America’s small business community.
Join the Movement
This is a battle to put small business first, and we invite you to join us. Whether you are an artist looking to showcase your work , a shop owner ready to claim your place in history, or a traveler looking for the "authentic" American experience, our new hub is live and ready for you.

Visit us at liveworkplay.media/america250 to explore the directory, meet our Heritage Partners, and join the "Founding 250" before the spots are gone.
The heart of the Semiquincentennial is beating. It's time to put small business back on the map.
